Want to do something else as the Eiffel Tower and the Louvre in Paris? We have the perfect suggestion for you; did you ever hear about the Catacombs in Paris? Well, here you do.
How about crawling 20 meters under ground between remains of 6 million Parisian people who have been stored for hundreds of years? If you’re up for a 45 minutes walk and a total number of 213 steps (130 to go down and 83 to reach the exit), you will discover an incredible experience in these unique quarries. It is certainly a very important part of Paris, and at first I though it would be creepy but it is actually really interesting!
Labyrinthine walls of bones and skulls bring visitors into the city of the dead, where a spooky atmosphere lives.

My trip began at place Denfert-Rochereau (metro Denfert-Rochereau) and I spent almost one hour strolling around in the Catacombes. At first I was quite sceptic about this idea, but I was up to discover something else than the classical must-sees in Paris and it was definitely worth it! If you're interested I would suggest to go on weekdays to avoid queues and to not wear your best pair of shoes.
cool post

Wow! This sounds really interesting, but I think I would be really creeped out too. It does sound like a wonderful way to see a different side of city, though.

These photos are amazing. I don't find it that creepy. It's more interesting than anything. I'm looking at it from an artful state of mind. That wall is muted in color but still powerful. Thanks for sharing.
